Flying from Philly

Getting to Philly International

Though Philadelphia International doesn't always offer the cheapest fares (click here for info on getting better prices), it certainly can't be beat for ease of access.  In fact, there are two great ways to get to PHL:

1) Your best bet is to take a Swat Airport Shuttle, coordinated by the Student Budget Committee.  These shuttles run numerous times during the days surrounding breaks and offer multiple pick-up points across campus.  You should receive a reserved-students notice prior to the break, instructing you on how to sign-up.  It's always in your interest to sign up ASAP, to guarantee yourself a spot at a preferred time.  Be aware though that, due to the difficulty of coordinating so many schedules, you may end up having to get to the airport a bit earlier than you would like.  The service also offers pick-ups for return flights, meeting Swatties outside of the luggage carousel at each terminal.  These return pick-ups are not reserved, but run frequently enough to guarantee a trip back to Swat in a reasonable amount of time. (Cost: $4/each way, Time: 20-25 minutes)

2) If your schedule doesn't permit you to use a Swat Shuttle, it's very easy to take SEPTA's R1 line to the airport.  All you need to do is take the R3 into any Center City stop and then catch an R1 out to PHL.  Trains stop at each terminal for easy access.  (Cost: $7.00 (peak) $5.50 (off-peak)/each way, Time: 1 - 1-1/2 hours, depending on your connection)

In either case, it pays to know your terminal ahead of time, so click here to determine which terminal your airline operates out of.

Have a great flight!
